Our Chef
TYLER DEGROFF
With nearly two decades of culinary expertise Executive Chef/Owner Tyler DeGroff has perfected the art of wood-fired pizza, bringing a passion for quality and flavor to every event.
Tyler was born and raised in Upstate NY. As a young man he honed his skills in renowned kitchens and explored traditional & global cooking methods . Eventually, he opened his own farm-to-table bistro in Middleburh, NY. During this time he designed & opened a custom wood-fired pizza trailer. Ultimately, he fell in love with the rustic and smokey flavor of wood-fired cooking and decided to go full-time with the pizza trailer and catering business. He and his family moved South to allow for year-round operation. They landed among the pines in Eastern North Carolina. Chef Tyler lives on beautiful Roanoke Rapids Lake with his wife, Mindy, and their four young children. The Hen & The Hound Wood-Fired Pizza & Chef Services caters to Halifax County, Warren County & the greater Lake Gaston area.
The Hen & The Hound Wood-Fired Pizza has been proudly serving in North Carolina since 2020.
